* OUTER MATERIAL - The QUANTUM RS1 Thai Pads are excellent pads, designed for heavy-duty training. The pads are made of a special, very tear-resistant and easy-care synthetic leather. This synthetic leather can be washed and disinfected as often as you like with a common care product and thus always remains clean even when used continuously in training.
* PADDING - The inner core of the pads consists of a 4-layer composition of effective cushioning and slightly lighter foams. These slightly lighter foams absorb light to strong hits and kicks very gently and comfortably, making it easier to forgive many technical errors and reduce pain and the risk of injury. The weight of the pads is significantly lower than that of the hard professional models, which does not put as much strain on the arms and is significantly lighter and more comfortable to hold. The claim that Quantum makes with these pads is clear: to demand the sporting performance of the martial artist but to also protect the health of the athlete and their partner who have to hold the pads.
* SHAPE - The perfect, slightly curved shape of the Quantum RS1 Thai Pads is the result of decades of experience and is ideally adapted to the shape of the forearms and hands. As a result, these pads guarantee the best possible handling during training. At the same time, the form was developed to be able to intercept series of alternating punch and kick combinations with fists, elbows, shins, and knees in the best possible way.
* ERGONOMIC HANDLE - A special recess for the hand under the handle guarantees both a firm hold and an optimal, anatomical hand-forearm position. The whole hand fits easily and comfortably into the opening, allowing the hand to be straight and natural in line with the forearm. From a medicinal point of view, this posture is absolutely effective because it prevents a one-sided strain on the wrists and thus enables injury-free training. INNOVATIVE VELCRO STRAPS - The improved Velcro straps on the Quantum RS1 Thai Pads are the result of countless trials and tests. This research has finally led to the development of Velcro straps that hold securely without unraveling during training. There is probably nobody who has trained with Thai pads and who was not annoyed that the Velcro straps lost their holding power after a short time and had to be fixed with adhesive tape in order to be able to continue using the pads at all. The reason for this is that those Velcro straps are too short and too narrow, which means they don't have enough power to stay closed during training. Because they often open up on their own during training, the Velcro straps wear out very quickly and after a short time they no longer hold up.
Quantum solved the problem with two innovative and technically well thought-out adjustments:
1. Thanks to the straight hand-forearm line, the straps could be pushed more towards the wrist and closer together, making them significantly wider without interfering with the wrist or elbow joint.
2. Due to the improved, deeper positioning of the metal loops for the Velcro straps, the length of the straps could be significantly increased.
The result is a much larger Velcro surface which ensures that the Velcro straps hold much better and do not come undone during training.
