* The material made of leather and the extra thick foam padding turn the boxing glove into a robust and reliable partner in training, which offers a lot of protection and safety. The thumb is sewn integrally to the boxing gloves and thus prevents both thumb injuries and an accidental slip of the thumb in the eye of the opponent.
*At the inside of the boxing glove is a breathable mesh material placed to provide more hand cooling and reduce sweating of the hands. This is comfortable for the hand and prevents sweaty hands from making the boxing gloves too wet during use. This is because the moisture has a very negative effect on both the upper material and the padding and significantly shortens the life of the boxing gloves. In addition, there are bacteria in the sweat, which cause the boxing gloves to smell unpleasant over time. In this regard, it must also be noted that the boxing gloves should always be worn with boxing bandages, because the boxing bandages absorb the sweat very effectively and therefore protect the boxing gloves well against moisture and bacteria.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT BOX GLOVE SIZE The term "boxing glove size" is not actually a size, but indicates the weight of a single boxing glove in the unit OZ (1 OZ / 1 ounce = 28.35 gr). The goal of this OZ specification is not to adjust the size of the boxing gloves to the size of the hand, but to adjust the desired protection of the boxing gloves to the punching power of the carrier. The rule is simple: the heavier the boxing glove in OZ, the more padding it has, and thus the higher the level of protection (due to increased shock absorption) it provides. Even though the heavier boxing gloves (which has more OZ) are usually also slightly larger than the lighter ones, this difference in size is not the deciding factor. When choosing the number of OZ it is very important to consider first of all the punching force resulting from the body weight (body mass x acceleration = force) and secondly the role the boxing gloves should play in the training. The heavier (and thus the assumption) the stronger the athlete is, the heavier boxing gloves ( due to better protection by thicker padding) the athlete should wear.
The second most important criterion when choosing the OZ: what purpose should the boxing gloves be used for during training? You need relatively little padding, i.e. few ounces, if the boxing gloves are only used for punching bag and prat training, because low ounces are already sufficient to protect the hand. Higher ounces are needed for partner training because you also want to protect your partner from injury and pain with the slightly thicker padding. The heaviest boxing gloves, those with significantly larger OZ numbers and the thickest padding, are used for sparring because you want to guarantee the best damping of hard blows and thus also the best possible protection from injury. You can see that in the choice of the right " size of boxing gloves " is not the size of the hand (although not completely unimportant), but especially the punching power, which results largely from the body weight and also the function that the boxing gloves should fulfill in training.
FUNCTION OF BOX BANDAGES - important note:
The boxing gloves should always be worn with (fresh) boxing bandages because:
*the boxing bandages bind the hand into a compact unit so that the punching force (of one's own) is distributed over a larger fist area and over several knuckles of the hand. This reduces the load on individual knuckles and thus the risk of injury.
*Boxing bandages stabilize the wrist very well and minimize the risk of twisting in the joints and associated injuries.
* the boxing bandages very effectively absorb sweat from sweaty hands and therefore protect the boxing gloves from moisture, which significantly shortens the life and functionality of both the synthetic leather and padding.
* Boxing bandages absorb most of the bacteria in our sweat and thus prevent the boxing gloves from smelling unpleasantly.
